Every second of load time is a customer walking away.

How I work

Seven stages, and what each one costs you

Every engagement runs the same way. The risky part gets built first, everything goes through staging, and you own the code and the documentation at the end.

Stage 01
20 minutes, within 3 business days

Understand

We discuss your Shopify store, business goals, challenges and technical requirements.

What you get

A recorded walkthrough of your storefront, PDP and checkout, with the two or three things costing you the most ranked by effort-to-impact, and a straight answer on whether the fix is a config change, a theme change, or an engineering project.

What I need from you

Your store URL. Nothing else, and no call required at this stage.

Stage 02
2–4 days

Scope

I define the recommended solution, deliverables and development approach before work begins.

What you get

A written scope naming the problem, the approach, what is explicitly out of scope, and a fixed price for defined work or a weekly rate for open-ended work.

What I need from you

A conversation with whoever owns the outcome, plus read access to the store so I am scoping against the real theme and app stack rather than a description of it.

Stage 03
3–5 days

Plan

Complex functionality is mapped and validated early to reduce unnecessary development risk.

What you get

A working proof of the single riskiest element (the Function, the API integration, the performance hypothesis) on a staging theme or preview app, so we find out early if the approach is wrong.

What I need from you

A development store or staging theme, and API credentials scoped to what the prototype needs.

Stage 04
Per the agreed scope

Develop

Your Shopify solution is developed on a safe environment with clean, maintainable code.

What you get

The build itself, on staging, with short written updates twice a week that a non-technical stakeholder can read. You are never wondering what week three bought you.

What I need from you

A named decision-maker who can answer questions within a day, and any content, designs or third-party credentials the build depends on.

Stage 05
1–2 days

Test & Launch

Everything is tested across functionality and devices before being approved for production.

What you get

Deployment to the live store with a tested rollback, plus verification that the thing we set out to change actually changed: measured, not assumed.

What I need from you

Your sign-off on staging, and a deployment window that avoids your peak trading hours.

Stage 06
Half a day

Handover

You receive the completed development, relevant documentation and ownership of the delivered code.

What you get

Repository access, a README, architecture notes explaining why it was built this way, and a recorded handover call. If you replace me next year, the next engineer can read what I did and why.

What I need from you

Whoever will maintain this on the call, ideally your developer or agency, not only the commercial owner.

Stage 07
30 days after ship

Support

Post-launch support is available for fixes, improvements and ongoing Shopify development requirements.

What you get

Anything broken that traces back to my work is fixed at no charge for 30 days. Beyond that, I am available for retained work or one-off changes, and I will tell you when a change is small enough that your own team should do it.

What I need from you

Nothing. If something breaks, email me.

What I don't do

Theme installs and cosmetic tweaks: worth doing, not worth my rate. Happy to refer you.

Design from scratch. I'll build your designer's Figma faithfully; I won't invent the brand.

Paid media, SEO content, or email strategy.

Rescue projects with no repo access and no staging environment.
